Discover the magic of things beyond our world. Families are invited to join us for a night of fun discovering the galaxy.

Families will make their own galaxy jars to take home while learning a mini-lesson about galaxies and nebulae. This activity is great for all ages, as it is a great way to play with paint...without a mess!

Families are invited to join us for a night of fun creating their planters out of recycled material! Celebrate the warming weather with an easy-to-make planter pot that you can take home with you and start growing your own plants!

Participants will decorate their planter pots and plant their seeds while learning about recycling and container gardening. This program is great for all ages!

Watch as inventor & time traveler Brock Barnabas visits the present time to recruit some adventurous kids to travel back to Medieval times. They train to help deal with an overpopulation of dragons! Kids are trained to both defend against and tame dragons using Brock's amazing science-based inventions and techniques.

StoryWalk


During the week of November 12-18, the Marion Public Library will be participating in StoryWalk® week. StoryWalks® help to promote literacy, reading, health, exercise, and movement in communities and neighborhoods. 

A Book Walk a Day will be set up around the library's outside perimeter. Families can visit each day to read a new book, while enjoying the outdoors.

STEAM in the Snow: Fun with Physics and Engineering

This is another wonderful example of how crafting and play can be used to teach concepts like physics and engineering! Kids will use a variety of materials to build miniature sleds and learn about how friction and force affect the way their sleds move down a (mini)snow ramp.

This program is made possible through partnership with Bre Napper, from The Ohio State University's Biomedical Engineering program.
