Continued service to our users is a priority. During COVID our Library board has had to make some tough decisions. With these decisions comes opportunity. Opportunity to brainstorm and research to find sustainable solutions that fit our library, our patrons, and our service needs. How do we change, adapt and modify what we are used to doing to become something that works best for our users and their needs? It has been a difficult year all around, and change is difficult. So please bear with us as we look at solutions to best address our "new norm" using our limited resources and continue to serve everyone to the best of our abilities. Programing for Summer Reading Club is coming together. Where did the year go? We are already preparing for Summer Reading Club to start June 1. Even though we can't wait for the day we can see everyone in person, we are still being cautious and planning VIRTUAL events with some family engagement kits that can be picked up before the event. When we get closer to June 1 you will find th e SRC program elements on our website and social media. For consistency's sake, the Let's Read 20 Reading to Beat the slide Reading logs will continue to be utilized throughout the summer. Look for the bingo-type card activity sheet along with the reading log and a list of related programs. Reading to beat the slide It is so very important to READ 20 MINUTES DAILY to or with your child. The current campaign underway with Let's Read 20 is to encourage parents and caregivers to make reading a priority. Record your child's daily activity on this downloadable log . After logging 2 weeks of daily reading return the log to Marion Public Library for a new book from Let's Read 20.
